Debate Club

Lorne's Debate Club researches the topic of the week, prepares arguments and engages in lively debates. Students make presentations explaining why their stance is the best position. The club is currently run by fifth grade officers and is now opening up to fourth graders. The goal is to build writing and public speaking skills. Students learn how to make claims, warrants, and impacts that defend their positions. Scholars meet once a week after school, advised by Ms. Weber in room 38.
